Job Summary
The Editorial Assistant will help the Editor of The Southern Quarterly: A Journal of Arts & Letters in the South with various tasks. They will work 20 hours per week for two months (June and July 2019) to assist with mail, correspondence, filing, inventory, and other administrative and editorial duties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Collect and sort mail

  2. Respond to email

  3. Manage check deposits, issue requests, and subscriptions

  4. Manage inventory & storage

  5. Facilitates digitizing past issues

  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications B.A. required, M.A. preferred. Experience working in academic/editorial office required.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required, strong writing skills needed (responding to inquiries and other correspondence), ability to work independently and with efficiency essential.

Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in English or related field preferred.
