Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Language and Literature at Fairmont State University invites applications for a one-year, renewable, temporary assistant professor in English. Primary responsibility will be to teach a 4/4 load. Teaching load will ordinarily include first-year composition and a sophomore literature class. Upper-level classes include Chaucer and the literature of the Middle Ages.
Minimum Required Education
Earned PhD in English Literature. Specialization in Medieval Literature required.

Minimum Qualifications
Earned PhD in English Literature. Specialization in Medieval Literature required.
Preferred Qualifications
Medievalist with competence as a generalist; preferred specializations in Early Modern Literature, Medieval reception of classical literature, textual studies, and Book History. Preference given to candidates with strong record of teaching, scholarship, and proficiency in Old and Middle English, Latin and Greek.
