    Places purchasing orders and conducts monthly reconciling of purchasing card charges incurred for STEM instructional and professional development supplies, and promotional materials for the Center and individual programs.Maintains a current inventory of CSTL STEM instructional supplies, professional development materials, print materials, and audio-visual and technical equipment; ensures proper stock levels of all supplies; procures replacement stock according to established procedures; verifies, examines, and properly stores all incoming materials and supplies according to safety codes and using a logical, user friendly system of classification.Ensures and supervises the maintenance of STEM instructional supplies, professional development materials, and audio-visual and technical equipment by attending to the following: maintaining and replenishing materials, preparing kits and materials for workshops and for classroom use (both by instructors and students).Maintains an orderly system for staff, faculty, and students to request these materials; interacts and communicates with faculty, staff, and students in ensuring that materials are prepared and ready for use in a timely manner according to the established request system.Schedules, monitors, and oversees the use of these resources by CSTL faculty, professional staff, and students, as well as external clients such as local school teachers.Prepares and sets up experiments/activities as needed for course instruction and professional development workshops in accordance with instructor guidance and in congruence with state and national level science education standards.Calibrates, trouble-shoots, and sets up STEM-specific technical equipment (such as probe ware) for classroom and workshop use. Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment and materials and follows required safety and cleanliness procedures. Uses appropriate references to ensure proper and safe handling, operating, and disposal methods for all materials.Trains and supervises the work of Laboratory & Materials Student Worker.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.

  • Experience with curriculum materials in science and education is ideal.
  • Experience as an employee in an educational setting.

  • Experience as an employee in a laboratory or stockroom setting.

Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check.

Additionally, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States.

Finally, each year the Northern Arizona University Police Department releases an annual security report. The report is a result of the federal law known as the Clery Act and contains policy statements that address the school’s policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security including policies for responding to emergency situations and sexual offenses. The report contains three years of data for Clery reportable crime statistics for the campus along with the most current year’s Fire Safety Report, which includes policy statements and fire statistics for Flagstaff on-campus student housing.

This position's pay grade is 32. The salary range for this paygrade can be found on the CLS Grade Schedule.

**The starting salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected applicant balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position.
