The University Community Collaborative (UCC) is looking to hire a Media and Communications Coordinator. The UCC, housed in Political Science at Temple University, is a grant funded initiative that provides leadership development programming for high school students in Philadelphia. Programming is provided on Temple’s campus in North Philadelphia.


The Media and Communications Coordinator has three main areas of responsibility: overseeing the logistical, production and community partner relationship needs of the Presenting our Perspective On Philly Youth News (POPPYN) program; providing media support to other UCC programs; and coordinating the UCC’s print and digital communication activities.  Hours will include some evenings and weekends


Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a media related field and 2 years of related experience. Experience with web publishing including video, blogging and interactive Web 2.0 technologies. Experience working with high school and college students. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  


Required Skills & Abilities:

*Ability to facilitate the needs of the programs with all participants, partners and stakeholders.

*Must be able to communicate and interact with all participants, partners and stakeholders with professionalism and respect.  

*Ability to develop a curriculum for the students participating in the program.

*Ability to complete thorough research for projects.

*Demonstrated video production skills.

*An aptitude for effectively using software tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Drive, MailChimp, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro and AfterEffects.

*Ability to effectively use multiple social media platforms for UCC marketing and communications

*Must have strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to oversee all aspects of projects to completion and on deadline. 


This is a grant funded position.

This position requires a background check.
