DescriptionThe coding and innovation instructor will teach a course and design curriculum that will including problem solving, logic and programming concepts. The students should have a survey level exposure to programming language. Further, classes need to expose students to authentic and applicable uses of coding languages so they acquire the skills necessary to open a possible college path in CS field that would demand these prerequisites. The instructor must support the inquisitive nature of the students while giving them the framework for these skills. Students should gain exposure to programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C++, and Unity, or similar. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in relevant major or teaching area or profession certification equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  
Required Skills & Abilities:*Experience working with a diverse range of high school students, including those from a low-income, first generation college background*Experience in developing course curricula (creating lesson plans and activities)*Excellent oral and written communication skills*Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast paced environment*Ability to work in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Google Docs/Google Classroom*Ability to undergo Child Abuse Certification process prior to first day of work. Employees must obtain the Child Abuse Certifications listed below and complete a Disclosure Statement to satisfy the requirements to work with minors on campus.
Preferred:*Previous experience in overcoming academic and/or economic barriers is helpful. 
This is a grant funded position.This position requires a background check.
