Position Summary Information

Primary Purpose

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, the Assistant Director of Graduate School Marketing & Recruitment is responsible for conceptualizing, writing, managing and executing email communication, web, social media and collateral content and design, with special emphasis on recruitment and outreach. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School and in partnership with the CRM team, ensures that all marketing efforts are launched to prospective students, applicants, current graduate students, and external partner audiences according to the communication calendar. Collaborates with faculty in all 3-city graduate programs on content, timing and execution for program specific full-funnel enrollment communication. The position provides support and coordination for the implementation of innovative and effective graduate marketing strategies; assists in coordinating the activities of consultants in marketing and public relations.

Essential Functions

1.In collaboration with the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, develops and executes the annual comprehensive marketing and communications plan for graduate programs, in alignment with the University’s strategic enrollment plan. This plan will include a variety of communication channels, including the University website, digital communications through Salesforce, direct mail, print media, and other marketing and related recruitment activities.

2.Develops, manages and implements email communication strategy for graduate recruitment efforts, including; calendaring, content development, copy editing, email template design. Manages campaign scheduling and content/copy approvals with graduate program faculty & Graduate School leadership.

3.Creates target audience reports within the CRM and delivers broadcast emails to targeted audiences.

4.Captures student input related to the effectiveness of outreach and marketing strategies and reports results and makes recommendations to the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School for the annual comprehensive marketing plan.

5.In collaboration with the CRM team, works to build out and manage marketing tools for graduate programs such as Marketing Cloud and other Salesforce applications.

6. In collaboration with the Office of Marketing and Communications, develops and maintains a cohesive design and style for marketing graduate programs through electronic communication, print and web.

7.Manages and executes full funnel enrollment communication strategies for prospective students and target audiences.

8.Designs and edits dynamic campaign and event email templates within the CRM for graduate programs, graduate admission, central recruitment events and the Graduate School.

9.Responsible for the management of the Graduate Admission and Graduate School website, including design, style and content ensuring alignment with university standards. Manages accurate and optimized content for mobile and SEO.

10.Leads the Graduate School social media strategy. Launches and monitors in-house social media advertising campaigns.

11.Stays current in digital trends, best practices and new technologies and advises Graduate School leadership on content, design and process improvements.

12. Works collaboratively with colleagues to provide superior customer service.

13.Represents University of the Pacific at graduate recruitment events as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, west coast college visits, regional community engagement events (3-city), and large scale recruitment expositions to gather leads. Projecting a professional image of the University through written and verbal communication is essential. Travel is required during high recruitment season and as needed throughout the year.

14.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Three (3) years’ experience in the coordination of communication and marketing plans, digital and electronic communication or related experience.
•Experience using HTML and desktop publishing tools such as InDesign.

Preferred Qualifications

•Master’s degree.
•Experience with Salesforce or other similar CRM system.
•Ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines with a quality, error-free product or result.
•Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management and faculty to ensure delivery of the desired message to target audiences.
•Ability to implement and advise on effective and creative integrated marketing communications plans and implement successful marketing tactics.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Copy writing and editing skills.
•Excellent interpersonal relationship-building skills.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. Work performed during standard business hours. Must be available to work some evening and weekend hours as needed to meet deadlines. Regional travel is required between campuses and to recruitment events during recruitment season.

Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
