Full-Time Close All Job SummaryThe position is to develop protocols, metrics for the quantum networking and assist in their practical implementation in quantum networking testbeds, particularly those being developed at NIST Boulder based on optics and superconducting qubit to microwave transducers.Who We AreThe Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder. PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists.
The particular group that needs a researcher is the Computing and Communications Theory in the Applied and Computational Mathematics Division at NIST.What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

• Perform fundamental research in the area of quantum networking.
• Ensure that protocols and metrics being developed are relevant and practical.

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in STEM.

What We Would Like You To Have

• PhD in Physics with expertise in the mathematics and application of quantum characterization techniques, particularly tomography and measurements of spin correlations and experience with physics of semiconductors and other solid state materials.
