Bucknell University's Counseling & Student Development Center (CSDC) is a well-resourced center that includes a consulting psychiatric provider. As the campus' primary mental health and psychological wellness service for students, the CSDC is uniquely positioned to make meaningful contributions to Bucknell's initiatives related to diversity and fostering a culture of inclusion on campus. The CSDC at Bucknell University is currently seeking a Staff Psychologist/Counselor to join the team focusing on work with LGBTQ populations.

Job Duties:

Primary Responsibitliites -
1. Provide clinical assessment for students experiencing personal, developmental and/or psychological problems and those seeking personal growth and development.
2. Engage students in individual and group counseling to address personal, developmental and/or psychological problems as well as to enhance personal growth, health and academic success.
3. Provide emergency and crisis intervention services (e.g., participate in the center's on-call rotation including evenings and weekends).
4. Consult with university staff, faculty, students, family members and other professionals to assist students.
5. Assess need for psychiatric evaluation/medication management and assist with referral.
6. Assist with referrals of students to resources on campus (e.g., career services, student health, etc.) and off campus (e.g., community mental health programs, community clinicians).
7. Provide services consistent with professional ethical standards and generally accepted standards of practice.

Specific to the position focusing on the LGBTQ community -
1. Develop, implement and evaluate community intervention programs/outreach services that: a) help prevent problems, b) educate students, staff and faculty about mental health/psychological issues and wellness unique to LGBTQ population, and c) teach skills for self-care and community health and safety.

Administrative Responsibilities -
1. Maintain appropriate documentation of services and client records.
2. Contribute to the office's operational responsibilities, e.g., exercise appropriate stewardship of center budget and resources, contribute to center-wide goals and projects, contribute to office planning, assist with divisional and university responsibilities, etc.
3. Engage in professional development to maintain best practices and meet legal requirements and professional guidelines for practice.
4. Engage in both need assessments and service outcome assessments/evaluations to support the effectiveness and efficiency of services. Make appropriate changes in services based on assessment findings.
5. Contribute to, provide direction for, and/or manage and administer projects assigned as part of the center's annual goals or other center or divisional projects.
6. Serve on Divisional and University committees as appropriate.
7. Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Candidates with a master's level degree (MA) in clinical or counseling psychology, Social Work or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired will be considered at the Counselor level. Candidates with a completed doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) will be considered at the Psychologist level.
2. Licensed or license eligible in Pennsylvania.
3. Experience working with college-aged young adults.
4. Demonstrated multicultural counseling competency.
5. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in advancing diversity topics and supporting multicultural identity development, as well as proven ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
6. Experience with group services (i.e., therapy and support groups).

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working in a college/university counseling center setting.

The Community
