The Grant Director for the Humanities Pathway Partnership works in collaboration with the Co-Director at Florida International University (FIU) to lead, coordinate and implement the Making Diversity Meaningful in the Humanities program which strengthens faculty and staff collaborations between the institutions and positively impacts humanities students in completing their degrees at Miami Dade College (MDC) and transferring to FIU. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees. This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment. This is a temporary position.

  • Leads, coordinates and implements the program supported by lead faculty and administrators
  • Selects, manages and directs project consultants, evaluators, and marketing firm
  • Plans, manages and directs marketing activities including the development a joint marketing plan
  • Co-leads the Network Improvement Community
  • Facilitates the establishment of public history projects and internship programs
  • Coordinates MDC-FIU Humanities Days, Summer Bridge programs and Faculty Institutes
  • Promotes and administers collaborative faculty research grant competitions
  • Assists in the selection and management of faculty professional development and pedagogical support opportunities
  • Selects cross-institutional faculty to attend conferences with student research partners
  • Works closely with grant partners overseeing the progress and ensuring grant deliverables are met, assuring the program efforts comply with the requirements of the funding source
  • Works closely with the outside program evaluator to ensure evidence-based impact findings and reporting
  • Prepares interim and final reports to the Mellon Foundation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in and three (3) years of project/grant management experience; or Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and seven (7) years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of grant management including budget, personnel management and reporting
  • Advanced working knowledge of grant management and grant process reporting
  • content-based learning
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for reporting purposes
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekend assignments
