ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: 

Provides overall leadership in creating a culture of care through designated student service areas for diverse student population. Becomes a strategic partner with the vice president and deans to enable community to flourish so that all students feel a sense of belonging at Triton College to positively impact retention. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

A. Provide overall leadership for the effective planning and implementation of programs of the following areas: 

1. Student activities and programming 
2. Student Government and/or Student Leadership Development 
3. Intercollegiate athletics and intramurals 
4. AmeriCorps Program 
5. College work study program 
6. Student Adjudication 
7. Title IX, focus on students 
8. Multicultural services and activities 

B. Be an advocate for all students and role model how best to serve a diverse student population. 

C. Oversee all responsibilities relating to policies and protocol as Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the College. 

D. Establish college policies to align with best practices in student conduct and oversee all student conduct issues. 

E. Advance efforts relating to equity and diversity programming, specifically focused on the institutional identity of being a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). 

F. Lead efforts for assessment of student affairs division, including assessment of student learning outside the classroom. 

G. Assist in establishing a model of student care focusing on student mental health as it related to student success. 

H. Become a primary contact for student emergencies with external partners as deemed necessary. 

I. Oversee all licensure agreements for software related to student conduct. 

J. Maintain a strong relationship with Triton College Police to provide a safe environment for students. 

K. Maintain a strong relationship with athletics to assist in the success of student-athletes. 

L. Provide overall leadership for grant initiatives as they relate to student affairs to complement existing programs and services. 

M. Represent the College at meetings of governing agencies, colleges and universities, at both the state and national level related to the areas of responsibility. 

N. Provide overall leadership in recommending, developing, and implementing new/revised student service programs. 

O. Coordinate and evaluates the program review procedures for areas of responsibility. 

P. Responsible for the preparation and allocation of the annual budget for areas of responsibility.

SUPERVISION PROVIDED: 

A. Assigned administrators, mid-managers, and classified staff 

EDUCATION: 

Master's degree or equivalent in education, student services, or related field. 

EXPERIENCE: 

A minimum of three years managerial experience in student services or related field. 

KNOWLEDGE: 

Knowledge of student services programs and services. 

SKILLS: 

Has demonstrated the ability to manage student services programs for a diverse student population.
