Wright College seeks a knowledgeable robotics instructor to deliver educational programming to the Young Manufacturers' Academy Camp at the Humboldt Park location. Young Manufacturers' Academy inspires students to learn science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills with robotics. Wright's Humboldt Park location is committed to this mission and seeks an instructor with passion to teach future innovators. The Robotics Instructor - Part-Time will be responsible for leading 15 high-energy middle and high school students (7th - 11th grade) through the design, programming, and troubleshooting of educational robotics kits, such as Lego Mindstorms kits. 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilizes LEGO education methods to effectively deliver the curriculum.
  • Teaches classes for 15 high energy middle and high school students (7th - 11th grade participants).
  • Provides creative, challenging, interactive activities to engage students' hands and minds.
  • Encourages and inspires students' love of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) at an early age.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Technology and Management, Computer Science, Engineering or related field and/or three years of relevant work experience. 
  • Strong classroom management skills to oversee class of 15 high-energy middle and high school students. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and flexibility. 
  • Ability to customize curriculum depending on classes. 
  • Energetic and outgoing about working with 7th - 11th grade participants. 
  • Must be punctual and prepared for workshop.Must be available Mondays - Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a period of six weeks.
