Job TitleProgram Manager (TEMP)Description

The Institute for Liberal Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies at Emerson College seeks a Program Manager for a twelve-week period for 25 hours per week.

The Program Manager works closely with the Dean of Liberal Arts on Institute programming, including course scheduling, event planning and marketing, curriculum development, and college-wide initiatives. This position acts as point person to the Dean of Liberal Arts – overseeing the daily work of the Institute and managing the workflow through the Senior Administrative Associate while communicating work progress and outcomes to the Dean of Liberal Arts. This position also supports the Director of the Honors Program, acting as a liaison
between students enrolled in the program and the Director to communicate program information, schedule advising sessions, and answer questions or concerns.

This position starts on July 29, 2019 through October 18, 2019.

Primary Duties, Responsibilites, and Tasks

Specific duties during this time period will include:
Course scheduling;
Supporting the Director of Curriculum and Administration with curriculum development processes and course Catalogue revisions;
Supporting the Honors Director with advising, events, orientation dinner, and other projects;
Managing the Institute event calendar and event promotion;
Compiling and editing information for the Institute and Honors Program Newsletters;
Updating promotional materials about Minors Programs;
Hiring and tracking student employment positions;
Partnering with the Institute Administrative Associate to the Dean on budget management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize, manage stressful situations, and handle confidential matters.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including good listening skills and the ability to sensitively/patiently handle upset faculty, students and/or parents.
Detail oriented with excellent follow-through.

Experienced with Word and Excel; familiar with or able to learn additional computer software (database programs, design software, calendar/scheduling programs, email programs, etc.).

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

Preferred experience includes familiarity with Cognos, Banner, and DegreeWorks.

Required Prior Work Experience

A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative role in higher education
