Job Summary:

The Dean for Community Education and Corporate Outreach reports to the VicePresident of Strategic Development. Thisposition is responsible for building awareness in the community throughprogramming and administration of non-credit offerings including youthenrichment programs, creative interest courses, trips and tours, and specialevents. This position also has oversightof the Corporate Sales team, Driver’s Safety Program, Fitness Center, andPublic Access.

Responsibilities

Increase Corporate Training opportunities in the community, on a year-over-year basis, by generating new clients and reactivating former clients.

Build top of mind awareness in the community through inquiry generating non-credit courses, events, and programs.

Work cooperatively with community groups and other agencies to analyze and define the community needs within the established policies and procedures.

Devise a system to successfully remarket to students, while developing a seamless opportunity for these students to transition into credit programs.

Design, develop and implement new courses each year to further strengthen the brand as a quality and nimble provider of non-credit programming.

Oversee the development, coordination, and publication of the Community Education course schedule, including planning for other departments under the department umbrella.

Serve as an active member of various community boards and committees, representing the college and promoting our offerings and services.

Explore and develop new courses and program ideas that meet the needs of district residents.

Develop and implement a quality improvement plan for the unit that includes standards and evaluation techniques.

Develop program recommendations that include budget, location, staffing, and evaluation procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Strategic Development.

Position Qualifications:
Master’s degree in related field required.

Three to five years of experience incommunity education, marketing, or a related field, preferably in the communitycollege system and in a leadership position.

Three to five years of supervisory experienceat a department head level.

Sensitivity to and respect for people from diverseand culturally disadvantaged backgrounds.
