Adjunct Faculty - American Studies

Job no: 493802
Work type: Temporary part time
Location: Glassboro, New Jersey
Categories: Faculty - College of Humanities and Social Sciences

The program in American Studies is seeking adjuncts to teach American Studies for the Classroom (with approximately 20 students). This course deliberately teaches social studies skills to teacher candidates. The course seeks to train teacher candidates to teach the difficult parts of history and society that are mandated but often ignored, like slavery and America’s involvement in the Holocaust. Therefore, a successful candidate must have an appropriate graduate degree and have experience teaching social studies.

Prospective adjunct faculty should send a copy of their curriculum vitae, sample syllabi or course outlines, graduate school transcripts (or an unofficial transcript with a list of courses completed in graduate school), one letter of recommendation, a list of at least two additional references, and any other supporting materials the candidates believe might be helpful. For more information please contact Emily Blanck, Program in American Studies at [email protected]. Applications should be submitted as a single .pdf file to this posting at
