Work ScheduleMonday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with additional evening and weekend hours as necessary.
Benefits Eligible Yes Eligible for Overtime No Position SummaryReporting to the Vice President for Enrollment the Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications has the overall responsibility for development, coordination, and implementation of enrollment marketing and communication strategies to achieve enrollment goals and to communicate consistently the brand and identity of Rice University and its six undergraduate schools to prospective students and school educators. The director will have a comprehensive understanding of market segments, and be able to accurately and persuasively represent and market the university and its undergraduate academic programs to prospective students and others. The director is someone with broad skills who can provide visionary and operational leadership in communication strategy for recruitment, enrollment, and financial aid through initiatives that are contemporary, on brand message, relevant, and serve to provide greater visibility of Rice to prospective students. The Director ensures that the enrollment division uses the most contemporary and effective approaches to reach prospective students and coordinates innovative communications initiatives through a variety of media including print, web, email, and social media.
The director will serve as the primary liaison to and work in close collaboration with the Public Affairs division. The director will be a senior member of the enrollment division and work in close collaboration with the Vice President for Enrollment, Director of Admissions, Executive Director of University Financial Services, and enrollment officers as a strategic partner and thought leader within the division. The director will lead a team of admissions officers and marketing and communications professionals and will have the opportunity to serve as a territory manager for a small recruitment territory. Familiarity with a CRM is required, Slate by Technolutions is preferred. Knowledge of Rice University and/or experience in a higher education environment is desired.

- Manages the enrollment marketing and communication budget and seeks to propose increased efficiencies and effectiveness in the use of staff and financial resources
