The Student Audio Visual Assistant works in the Educational Technology department which provides Instructional Technology assistance to all GGC users: student, staff, and faculty members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with the support of digital technology throughout campus.

  • Provide on-call technical assistance to faculty and staff in the classroom.

  • Assist with scheduled maintenance on all educational technology and ensure that the equipment is in good working order.

  • Help monitor classroom technology for status and maintenance needs

  • Assist with AV equipment, inventory, and storage.

  • Assist with submitting help desk tickets for a variety of technical issues

  • Assist in the set-up of AV equipment for events throughout the campus.

  • Assist senior level staff with equipment installation, repair, and replacement.

  • Maintain and organize classroom equipment supply list: laser projectors, cables, connectors etc.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The student holding this position reports to the Assistant Director of Classroom and Event Support.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College in good academic standing.
  • Good written, verbal and time management skills are required.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6 months to a year of large scale event support and AV Experience
  • Experience with PC’s and a working knowledge of Mac products.
  • The ability to professionally interact with faculty, staff and the Educational Technology department.
  • Applicant must be extremely responsible and must demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft office products.
  • Ability and desire to learn quickly about new technology

Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
