 The Marcus Institute for BrainHealth(MIBH) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus isa clinical care and research institute for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) andPsychologicalHealth(PH) conditions such as post-traumatic stress, depression, andanxiety. The primary focus of the MIBH is to care forformer military personnel who have separated from active duty, with specialconsiderationforthose who were separated with “Other ThanHonorable” or “Dishonorable” discharge status due to TBI or PHconditions. The MIBH also serves civilian adults who havesustained mild to moderate TBI, and are experiencing ongoing neurologicalproblems and co-morbid PH conditions. The MIBH offers intensive outpatient care with detailed diagnostic andtreatment services within an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that integratesconventional with complementary and alternative medicine, utilizing aninterdisciplinary team model.

 Nature of Work:
Thisposition focuses on clinical coordination for patient relations related toUniversity of Colorado. MarcusInstitute for Brain Health (MIBH) clinicians and affiliates as well as a minorsupport role in the business administration of MIBH.  The major functions of this position are toprovide high-level operational and technical support for clinical and clinicaladministrative teams to ensure goal achievements. This position will take thelead on complex projects within the Marcus Institute for Brain Health that willfacilitate processes according to CU and SOM policies and procedures. This rolewill maintain complete documentation for all project plans, timelines, andscope documents.

 Admissions Coordinator LeadResponsibilities:

  • AttendClinical Decision Team (CDT) and relay information to potential MIBH patients.
  • Developand maintain a community referral resource database for patients notappropriate for MIBH program.
  • Coordinateand track referrals to other veteran and partner programs.
  • Completemedical record reviews of all incoming medical records.
  • Notifyand coordinate all pre-evaluation logistics with approved patients.
  • Monitorand track progress with any CDT recommended medical work-up (ie: MRI),treatment (i.e.: substance abuse), or additional records, prior to schedulingpatient for evaluation.
  • Assistwith patient orientations.
  • Supportresearch team with arrangements of patients participating in research studies.
  • Workclosely with Clinical Navigator to further develop and implement the programintake process.
  • Providesupport for the development of clinical office operating procedures, forms, policiesand processes.
Admissions Coordinator AssistResponsibilities:

  • Backupas needed to answer/triage incoming calls to the main TBI line.
  • Backupas needed to ensure all required documentation and intake paperwork has beenreceived from prospective patients.
  • Obtainnecessary medical records for all prospective patients as needed.
  • Backupand assist Clinical Navigator prepare and cover meetings as needed.

 SeniorProfessionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill,personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas includingacademic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Workinvolves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly relatedto a professional field.  Work isperformed fully independently. 


Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: 


Abachelor’s degree in biological science, nutrition, nursing, health, humanservices, psychology, counseling, social work, or a directly related field froman accredited institution.

 Three (3)or more years:

  • Experienceworking in clinical administrative operations
  • Experienceworking in higher education and/or medical center environment.
  • Experiencedeveloping policies and procedures.
Substitution: A combination ofeducation and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substitutedfor the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeof military culture
  • Knowledgeof neurology, TBI and/or rehab
  • Experienceusing EPIC, REDCap and Formstack

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing andorally.
