Nature of Work



The University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus along with the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery within the Department of Surgery is looking to hire a Colorectal Surgeon to join its team of surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers.  This new hire will participate in the expansion of our clinical activities and will also be charged with leading the research program of the colorectal surgery section. The position will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor or Professor level and the candidate must have completed a general surgery residency and colorectal fellowship accredited training program. This position is full-time and will be based at University Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado and may include an appointment at the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System. The position offers the potential for growth and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • MD/DO
  • Board certified in General Surgery
  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Colorectal Surgery 

  • Membership in the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons
  • CO Medical license or license eligible

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical or basic science research grant funding
  • Colonoscopy and Robotic Surgery proficiency

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Clinical expertise in the full spectrum of colorectal diseases
  • Established ability to lead clinical research projects and a sustained interest in the same

  • Successful background in scholarly activities
