Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Assistant will work within UCSD Medical Center and the community to promote the UCSD Hearts & Hands Volunteer Doula Program in order to increase awareness and to recruit, train, and retain volunteer childbirth assistants. Responsibilities will also include day-to-day administrative tasks related to calendar scheduling and data management.
Assists Volunteer Doula Program Manager with: Outreach to collaborating agencies and internal UCSD departments to increase awareness of the Doula Program and to recruit volunteers, in addition to routine communications. Volunteer orientation, training, recognition, and retention efforts (including documentation/coordination with UCSD's Volunteer Services requirements and compliance activities.) Regular and very frequent communications with volunteers.
Responsible for: All doula volunteer scheduling and coordination with UCSD staff. Database maintenance and record-keeping related to the volunteers, and statistics related to doula-attended deliveries. Completion of reports on program activities, finances and statistics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrated experience in community outreach and/or marketing.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
- BLS/CPR certification.
- Training/certification through one of the national professional doula associations.
- Experience as a birth doula or related experience in maternity care.
- Experience with database entry and scheduling.
- Experience in HR or volunteer management as well as experience in the development of written outreach, training or promotional materials.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
