The Department of Human Services is accepting applicants for a tenure-track position to teach master’s and doctoral level courses in educational research methods (e.g. improvement science, action research; qualitative and quantitative design and methods; program evaluation; policy analysis), using online, face-to-face, and hybrid delivery instruction methods; chairing and/or serving on committees for the culminating project in the Educational Doctorate in Leadership program (disquisition), collaborating with faculty on program development, research and student support.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

Demonstrated competence in more than one area of research (quantitative, qualitative, mixed method, improvement science, and/or action research).

Minimum Qualifications

We seek candidates with a doctorate in research methods or related field (e.g., Educational Psychology, Research in Sociology of Education, Research in Anthropology of Education, Research in Adult Education) earned by job start date, from an appropriately accredited institution. Minimum requirements also include evidence of teaching or potential to teach research courses designed to serve multiple graduate programs in education (e.g., M.A.T, M.A.Ed., M.Ed., M.S., M.S.A. and Ed.D.), to mentor graduate students at all levels, to conduct and publish original research, and to provide service to the University and the professional community.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have the following experience: previous teaching in higher education, including online, face-to-face, and hybrid instructional delivery; demonstrated competence in more than one area of research (quantitative, qualitative, mixed method, improvement science, action research). A preferred candidate will also have expertise in one or more of the following curricular areas in education: community college and higher education leadership, principal and/or superintendent preparation. In addition, preferred candidates will have knowledge of and/or experience in: teaching in a CPED-inspired (Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate) program, assisting graduate students with conducting and disseminating research, and collaborating on interdisciplinary and team curriculum development and instructional delivery. Preferred candidates will also present evidence of—or potential for—an active research agenda and evidence of—or potential for—securing grants.
