This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Given the complexity of the role of the Associate Vice President and the Division the Executive Assistant must perform a multitude tasks including but not limited to: (1) managing the calendar and meetings of the AVP (2) supervising the student worker staff and managing their payroll (3) handling the correspondence and file management for the AVP (4) processing and creating reports and completing basic data analysis for the AVP (5) working with multiple constituent groups both internal and external to SDSU (6) managing projects independently as assigned by the AVP.
Managing the operations side of DAESA, which includes: (1) managing the student workers, both undergraduate and graduate (2) ordering of supplies for staff other than the AVP (3) handling facilities requests and coordinating with the resource manager for facility improvements and (4) overseeing equipment inventory
Specialized objectives for this position include serving as the marketing and communications staff member as well. This role includes internal marketing, social media, maintenance of web, management of the SharePoint for unit files and cross campus utilization, and coordination with Stratcom for external communication and management.

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $4,375 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,288 - $6,162 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
- Ability to work in busy and sometimes noisy work environment that supports student activity and academic enrichment efforts often with competing and changing demands.
- A minimum of five years progressive experience with website and content management in a university setting.
- A minimum of two years progressive experience managing SharePoint and OneDrive.
- A minimum of ten years of experience working in a univerity setting in an academic department/school environment.
- Proficient working knowledge of MyRF Financial Management System.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Business, particularly with Marketing or similiar emphasis, stongly desired.
- Working knowledge of Oracle.
- Working knowledge of OmniUpdate in Account Administrator capcity.
