Job Description:
Learning Objectives: The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program aims to create a greater sense of belonging for first-generation college students. This position will support the objectives of the program by providing basic administrative support and serving as model TRIO student-leader. This position requires a high level of dependability, attention to detail and confidentiality. As a work study student, you will:
- Greet and direct administrators, faculty, staff students and other campus visitors. Assist the TRIO Program Assistant with desk coverage of either our tutoring, front desk or advising offices. Assist the program by helping to identify potential students, support outreach initiatives and discuss the mission and support provided by the program personnel. Assist with clerical tasks including but not limited to: filing, preparing mailings, organizing, phone calls, e-mails, printing, data collection & entry, copying and faxing. Attend and fully participate in required meetings, events or activities. Other light duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
- maintain satisfactory academic progress;
- adhere to College’s confidentiality policy;
- successfully pass background/drug screening;
- answer phone and take messages;
- clerical duties such as filing, data entry, copying and faxing;
- open and sort mail;
- strong interpersonal communication skills;
- willingness to learn new technology;
- assist with special projects;
- other duties as assigned.
