Job Summary/Basic Function

Responsibilities include administration of a recruitment region from inquiry to enrollment, coordinating at least two major projects supporting office goals, conducting evaluative interviews, information sessions, forums, application review, developing secondary school and independent counselor relationships, supporting on-campus and off-campus activities and events, representing the college within the designated recruitment region, and additional duties as assigned. Evenings and weekends are frequently required; 10 or more weeks of travel annually throughout the country is typical. Requirements include attention to customer care, problem-solving, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, computer literacy, strong planning, organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently and independently.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage recruitment territory (e.g., Building and maintaining relationships with regional secondary school counselors and independent educational consultants, admissions volunteers, and current parents and alumni and planning admissions travel and recruitment—including high school visits, panels, keynotes, case studies, college fairs, receptions, and meetings with secondary school and independent counselors, students, families, and community based organizations).
  • Evaluate admissions files (completing and reviewing candidate applications, making admission and scholarship recommendations to the committee, serving on the admissions committee).
  • Represent the college (e.g. off-campus interviews, information sessions, off-campus receptions, school visit, and college fairs).
  • Oversee project management in at least two functional areas of the admissions office (such as the waitlist, transfer student admissions, social media).
  • Participate and seek out leadership roles in regional associations for college admissions counseling and other regional admissions associations and represent the college by participating in presentations and group travel through these organizations.
  • Serve on various additional internal committees (e.g. communications, multicultural recruitment).
    Preferred QualificationsRequired:

    Bachelor’s Degree

    Valid Driver’s license and passport is required.

    3-5 Years Work Experience

    Preferred:

    Master’s Degree

    This position will be regionally-based within the recruitment territory (D.C., Northern Virginia).

    A valid Driver's Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period.YesSuccessful candidate will also be required to complete ACT 153 ClearanceYesThis position is considered "Emergency Staff."
