Job Details
SCAD seeks a full-time Professor of Painting to teach students to push the boundaries of expression while mastering classical methods of fine art instruction and practice.
The ideal candidate has a strong professional record and representational painting background. You have the ability to effectively guide students in representational skills acquisition; knowledge of traditional and contemporary painting techniques, art theory and practices; and knowledge of current critical theory. Additionally, you can work closely with graduate students as a team leader, have an interest in teaching a class on the business practice of art and past or current gallery representation. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
This is your chance to work with talented students within the historic district of Savannah, Georgia, a walkable, bikeable coastal city providing a living laboratory for the study of art and design.
Requirements:
- Terminal degree or its equivalent in painting or a related field
- Minimum of three years university-level teaching experience
- Experience with online supplemental programming and teaching preferred
