Position Description:
UCLA External Affairs advances UCLA's mission of teaching, research and community service through a coordinated campus wide alumni affairs, advocacy and development effort. The common goal is to connect UCLA's faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends through strategies and programs designed to build long-term relationships and support for the university. Attracting and recruiting the right individuals to manage and support the advancement of UCLA's External Affairs organization is vital to its success.
The Recruiter will work with managers and supervisors across External Affairs to generate interest and identify outstanding candidates for current and future support positions within External Affairs, developing a strategic sourcing plan that will ensure a consistent flow of qualified candidates sufficient to meet organizational needs. This individual will develop and cultivate a pipeline of prospective candidates for future openings; pre-screen candidates by evaluating professional skills and assessing potential fit; provide ongoing recruitment-related training and support to hiring managers and directors; collaborate with search committees on outreach and advertising strategies; and partner with industry contacts and trade groups. The Recruiter will also be responsible for ensuring that hiring practices are applied consistently and in compliance with university policies and practices as well as applicable employment-related regulations.

In the 2007 edition of U.S. News and World Report, UCLA Medical Center was ranked best in the West, as well as one of the top 3 hospitals in the United States alongside Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.
