The undergraduate Department of Community Health invites applications for part-time faculty in community/public health at the rank of Lecturer. Positions are for a 1-semester or 1-year initial contract with possibility of renewal and are included in the Collective Bargaining Agreement for part-time lecturers (Service Employees International Union). We seek courses in the following areas: global health, healthcare delivery systems (U.S. and comparative), health inequities (e.g., mental health, reproductive health) and statistical methods. At least one course taught will be a large lecture course Introduction to Community Health. A listing of our curricular offerings is available at https://ase.tufts.edu/commhealth/courses/.  Faculty could teach between 1 and 3 courses depending on areas of expertise.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a doctoral degree or equivalent in one of the following areas: public health, social sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, environmental health, or a related health field. University level teaching with undergraduates is strongly preferred.  A successful candidate will demonstrate a clear commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, working with a diverse student population, and dedication to collaboration with faculty within and beyond the department, such as other departments within the School of Arts and Sciences, the Tisch College for Civic Engagement, the Tufts School of Medicine, and the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
