PhD in an area related to Physiology

Required Related Experience

Experience in teaching courses pertaining to physiology and a demonstrated excellence in teaching is highly desirable. Overall knowledge of procedures and policy relative to curriculum management and assessment.

Qualified candidates should have classroom experience in teaching physiology, with a strong record of scholarly activity. Candidates applying for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor should also be nationally or internationally recognized scholars.

Job Summary

The Department of Physiology at the University of Kentucky is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to provide essential education and administrative functions to meet the academic missions of the department, specifically in the large Physiology undergraduate classes and graduate PhD programs. In addition to administration of graduate courses, this position will provide assistance to the Director of Graduate Studies. Responsibilities will include assistance with administration of undergraduate, graduate and professional courses within the Healthcare Colleges and undergraduate areas university wide.

The Department of Physiology is a diverse community of basic science researchers. Our areas of research include cardiovascular, neuroscience, metabolic disease and aging. Within those areas of research are 37 primary faculty, 8 joint faculty, 16 trainees and numerous laboratory staff. With over $6.2M in extramural support in FY16, our award-winning investigators are making major advances in biomedical research. Our training programs are preparing scientists for successful careers in academia, industry and government. Our education faculty touch the lives of over 2,000 undergraduate, professional and graduate students each academic year.
