The department of Health Behavior, in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a fixed-term faculty position as a Research Assistant or Research Associate Professor. The focus of the position is tobacco control policy research, including sales and marketing of tobacco products at retail outlets, health equity, menthol and flavored tobacco products, and pictorial warnings. The successful candidate will focus primarily on research, and the candidate may also partner with our faculty conducting ongoing studies on this topic. Applicants must have a strong publication record and evidence of potential for developing a research program supported by extramural funding.

With 24 faculty, the department of Health Behavior trains students and engages in multidisciplinary research to discover, develop and disseminate knowledge that promotes the health of individuals and communities. The position starts in spring or summer 2019 and funding would be provided for two years, with the expectation of external funding to support additional years. Education Requirements

The applicant must have a doctorate (PhD, ScD, or DrPH) in public health, public policy, social and behavioral science, or related field.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have scholar activity in tobacco control. Applicants must have a strong publication record and evidence of potential for developing a research program supported by extramural funding.
