Position SummaryThis is a highly responsible outreach and education position with the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory. The individual in this position is expected to develop and coordinate a program outreach and educational activities which enhance the understanding of the risks of radionuclides in the environment and general comprehension of the results of radionuclide monitoring programs by the general public. This position also involves close coordination with community leaders and NGO’s to develop strategies for radionuclide monitoring in those communities and the development of venues and opportunities to deliver outreach and education programs within those communities.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or CompetenciesKnowledge of the development and delivery of scientific material for public outreach and education programs or general knowledge of translation of scientific data for any educational program. Ability to deliver educational outreach programs to a wide diversity of audiences ranging from K-12 to adult audiences. Ability to coordinate with local community leaders and NGO’s in the development and delivery of outreach content.
