Job Description

Saybrook University is seeking an Academic Program Assistant to join the Department of Leadership & Management (DLM) in the College of Social Sciences (CSS).  The person hired for the federal work study position will report directly to the department chair and be responsible for carrying out administrative and support functions for DLM programs to meet the organizational needs of the program and its personnel.

Primary Responsibilities                                                                                                

• Communicating with prospective DLM students
• Developing and organizing program files and resources to support department chair, faculty, and advising team
• Organizing, managing and disseminating pertinent information for DLM students
• Assisting with Residential Orientation and Residential Conference Planning
• Supporting faculty such as co-facilitating conference calls (managing chat-box), reviewing syllabi resources, organizing/updating program files, preparing Canvas courses
• Communicating with external resources and partners to maintain up-to-date information 

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in the PhD DLM degree program with good academic standing
• Exceptional organization and communication skills
• Willingness to collaborate as well as receive feedback and direction from others
• Familiarity with the DLM curriculum and navigating Saybrook resources located in the, Cernter for Writing and Dissertation Excellence, Canvas, and Library
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office tools and willingness to learn new technology

Expectations 

• Weekly workload will vary according to the needs of the department

• Time commitment: Maximum of 15 hours per week

Compensation

• Submit hours in Workday each week
• $15.00 per hour
