Position Description

Under general supervision from designated administrator, provide comprehensive clinical, consultative, emergency and psycho-educational services reflecting the needs of a diverse student body, following all relevant national professional association ethical standards and state and federal laws regarding service delivery, record keeping, documentation, and other professional activities. We invite an early career or mid-career level staff psychologist to join our dynamic and multi-culturally competent staff members at the Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) within the Division of Student Affairs and Services. We seek a generalist with well-developed clinical skills, and significant experience and interest outreach and community engagement to join CAPS. General duties also include brief individual, couple and group psychotherapy.

Primary Duties

    Conduct individual and group counselingWrite reports and proposals concerning program operationPlan and implement outreach activities including social media outletsConsult with other professional and organizational units regarding counseling needsSupervise student intern in outreach activities

Minimum Qualifications

    Doctorate, Licensed Psychologist (must obtain license in the State of Ohio within six (6) months of date of hire). Degree must be in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (Doctorate of Psychology).Experiences must include three (3) years clinical/counseling.

Desired Qualifications

    A doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program.Pre-doctoral internship from an APA accredited internship training site.Minimum of three years’ experience in university counseling center, which may include a pre-doctoral internship from an APA-accredited site.Licensed-eligible in the State of Ohio. Must obtain psychologist licensure in Ohio within one year from the date of hire and must maintain license.Experience working with sexual assault/trauma concerns.Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to equity and inclusion.Experience providing brief individual therapy to international, historically underrepresented, and/or underserved college population.Experience providing couples and group counseling.Experience in a college counseling center.Good interpersonal skills, team oriented, and desire to collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting. The ability to manage the professional demands of a challenging caseload while maintaining good self-care and positive and healthy perspectives.
