Postdoctoral Positions in Cancer Biology
Postdoctoral positions are available to pursue basic and translational cancer research in Dr. Jun-Lin Guan’s laboratory at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Research in the Dr. Guan’s laboratory aims to understand the fundamental principles of cell signaling in the regulation of basic cellular functions in normal cell and developmental processes and to determine how the disruption of normal signaling pathways lead to diseases such as cancer. Current studies include the analysis of FIP200 and other autophagy genes in breast cancer and neural stem cells, mTORC1 signaling in vascular and other tumors and its cross-talk with autophagy, and FAK signaling through its kinase and scaffolding functions in breast cancer stem cells, angiogenesis and tumor stromal cells. We use a variety of genetically engineered mouse models combined with molecular, cellular and functional genomic approaches to gain mechanistic insights of critical molecules and their complex signaling networks in vivo.
We are a well-established laboratory with extensive experiences and contributions in cancer research as well as strong training record for postdocs for 28 years. We are interested in recruiting self-motivated, recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. graduates with the drive to succeed and the desire to be competitive at the highest level. Candidates with a strong background in cell and molecular biology, cancer research, and/or vascular biology are encouraged to apply. Experience in signal transduction, autophagy, stem cells, and mouse models of cancer or other diseases will be a plus.
