The Department of Journalism and Creative Media at the University of Alabama seeks a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in the area of media law. The successful candidate will conduct research and teach courses that focus on the First Amendment and/or other media-focused law. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in mass communication or related field and/or a J.D. before the start date of August 16, 2020. Candidates should demonstrate strong potential for successful undergraduate and graduate teaching in media law courses, and for developing a program of scholarship suitable for tenure consideration in an accredited program. The ability to teach in another area, such as ethics or investigative journalism classes, is desirable. Salary is competitive.
