The Campus Ledger is hiring for the 2019-20 school year. The video producer covers assigned news beat and conducts story interviews and research. He or she produces up to four news, sports or feature stories per month as assigned by editor-in-chief or associate producer and participates in rotation of regular beat coverage in news, features and sports; assist Associate Producer in planning and coverage of campus news; and works to write stories into scripts available for web publication.

Required Skills
  • High School graduate or equivalent required. Must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours at JCCC each semester and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Concurrent enrollment or successful completion of Jour 227, Basic Video Production; or FMS 200, Intro to Filmmaking and Media. (Transcript required if not taken at JCCC)
  • Must be able to edit quickly and pay attention to details


  • Previous experience on a student publication valuable, but not necessary. Knowledge of Associated Press style a plus
  • Previous experience with Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects
