The Campus Ledger is hiring for the 2019-20 school year. The Reporting Correspondent covers assigned news beat and conducts story interviews and research. Writes up to one news, sports or feature stories per month as assigned by editor-in-chief or section editor(s). Participates in rotation of regular beat coverage in news, features and sports. Assist assignment editor(s) in planning and coverage of campus news.Required Skills
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours at JCCC each semester and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA
- Concurrent enrollment or successful completion of Jour 122, Reporting for the Media or similar college-level course (Transcript required if not taken at JCCC)
- Must demonstrate writing/editing skills
- Previous experience on a student publication valuable, but not necessary
