1) Board certified in Family or Internal Medicine
2) Must have an unrestricted license to practice in Texas and be in good standing with the Texas Medical Board.
3) Must have current DEA registration.
4) Must be able to perform common office medical procedures, such as suturing of lacerations, incision and drainage of abscesses, cryotherapy of warts and pap smears.

Preferred Qualifications

1) Experience during the past 5 years working in an outpatient primary care clinic.
2) Experience documenting in an electronic medical record.
3) Current Healthcare Provider BLS or ACLS certification.

Job Description

Student Health Center (SHC) at Texas State University is seeking a full-time or part-time board certified staff FAMILY OR INTERNAL MEDICINE PHYSICIAN for an ambulatory outpatient clinic. SHC is a nationally accredited ambulatory health care facility complete with an in-house lab, x-ray and pharmacy. Our team-oriented organization serves a college population of more than 38,000 students. Services are provided in a welcoming and inclusive environment that respects the diversity of students. Clinic hours are 8am to 5pm MWF and 9am to 6pm T/Th. No on-call duty, nights or weekends, but additional hours are occasionally required.

Job Duties

To evaluate, diagnose and treat patients in a culturally competent and inclusive manner. To provide medical care to students, faculty and staff as provided by Student Health Center and University policies. To supervise any assigned nurse practitioners or nurses and to be available for consultation.
