Description

The Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, announces a search for a tenure-track position in Central American Studies to be filled effective July 1, 2019. Applicants are invited from scholars with research and teaching interests in ethnic studies (focused primarily on US Central American cultural production, the politics of memory, social history and aesthetics). Candidates will teach a variety of classes including large undergraduate courses, such as an Migrating U.S./Central American Cultural Production, Chicanos in Film/Video, Politics of Crisis: Migration, Identity, and Religion, and small graduate text seminars (Radical Constructions and/or Racial Constructs in Central America). We encourage the development of new courses in a candidate's field of expertise. Candidates should be eager to help build an engaged, intellectually transformative, diverse, and growing department, including making a significant contribution to the undergraduate and PhD program in Chicana and Chicano Studies.

In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.
