MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Provides supplemental- instructional guidance, tutorial, and other support services for migrant students following an Implementation Plan.
2. Consults with teachers regarding student academic needs. Coordinates tutoring time, location, and individual student needs based on teacher's guidance. Meets with tutors on a weekly basis or as needed (online, telephone, or in person) to discuss student progress and to plan for adjustments to schedules. Collects pre/post assessments from tutors.
3. Monitors the academic progress of migrant students through report cards/progress reports, ongoing monthly school and/or home visits, IP observations, and maintains
student data in the online MEP Consortium Tracking Form. Distributes student supplies during home visits.
4. Serves as a liaison between the migrant office, the schools, and the families.
5. Attends required trainings/professional development and staff meetings. Completes yearly online professional development courses as required by MEP.
6. Completes and reviews MEP required forms regarding participant qualification and services within specified deadlines (i.e. COE, PFS, CER, SSO)
7. Complies with ABAC required documentation and reports (i.e. Travel reports, Effort Detail Reports and Certification).
8. Coordinates with State Recruiters in identifying and recruiting eligible migrant students.
9. Maintains a list of local resources in each district and refers participants to other programs and services, as needed.
10. Conducts local Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meetings and assists parents in attending regional and state PAC meetings.
11. Uses MSIX to help facilitate student record transfer for LEAs and parents.
12. Must work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the population: weekends, and/or evenings. (i.e. PAC meetings & College Day Events)
13. Manages time well using Outlook calendar to plan weekly schedules. Calendars are shared among Consortium Staff
Position Summary:To provide supplemental academic and support services, oversee student academic progress, and be the liaison between the school, home, and community in order to facilitate the academic improvement of migrant students.
This is a part time nineteen hour per week nonbenefited position.
Required Qualifications:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum High school degree or GED diploma
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Available to work a flexible schedule (some weekends and/or evenings)
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft office applications
