The COE Admissions team supports prospective graduate and undergraduate students (including transfer and international students) by providing information and guidance related to applying to Cornell Engineering graduate and undergraduate programs.

The Associate Director of Admissions works closely with the Director, providing counsel and assistance on a daily basis to the Director in the recruitment, selection, enrollment of freshman; management of the Engineering Admissions Office visitor experience; serves as an advisor for the Engineering Ambassadors; plans and manages the Engineering Admissions annual communications plan; presents Engineering information sessions.

The Engineering Admissions Office is comprised of a small team of six who recruits, selects, and yields first-year, transfer, and visiting students for admission to the College of Engineering. We are seeking a hard-working, forward-thinking, admissions professional who enjoys thinking inovatively, collaborating with colleagues, who can function exceptionally well in a team-based office. The ideal candidate will be able to balance working autonomously with excellent judgment about collaborating with colleagues.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 1 year of work experience or an equivalent combination. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work as part of a high-performing team. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are critical. Prior experience developing effective written communications to inform and attract students is a plus. Creativity and initiative are essential. Demonstrated ability to successfully engage and communicate with a diverse group of constituents, peers, and colleagues. Experience with the recruitment of underrepresented students a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master’s degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in selective admissions in the humanities, social sciences, engineering, or other area of academia preferred.
