Diversity and Inclusion Graduate Assistant

Job description

Reporting to the Coordinator for Diversity, Inclusion and 1st Generation Students/Resident Director. The Graduate Assistant is a representative of the Office of Residence Life & Student Conduct (ORLSC) at Becker College.  The graduate assistant will maintain office hours of 20 hours per week in the office of Residence Life and Student Conduct. This is a live-in, 10-month (August- May) professional administrative position.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Coordinator for The Diversity, Inclusion and 1st Generation Students Coordinator/Resident Director
  • Providing administrative and logistic support to for all diversity and multicultural programming
  • Assists with communication initiatives to our 1st generation students
  • Assist with the oversight of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts, and all Becker College web pages associated with the Office of Residence Life and Student Conduct

Responsibilities also include participating in Residence Life Duty Rotation (including weekends, after hours, break periods and holidays), when on-call, acts as the primary contact for on-campus emergencies or crises. Writes Incident Reports as appropriate. Work collaboratively with campus colleagues and partners, and work with programs, projects and policies that reflect, uphold and contribute to the mission of Becker College. Candidate will be available, visible, and approachable to students within the college community through 20 hours of weekly office hours, at ORLSC events, and on call.

The Graduate Assistant must be registered for graduate courses at the time employment begins. A candidate should be a graduate student at a regional accredited college or university in Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling or other related field.
