Position Description:
Under the direction of the Fielding School of Public Health's (FSPH) Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Assistant Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the analysis, reconciliation, problem resolution and financial reporting of over $7 million dollars in extramural funds for school-wide contracts and grants and Dean's contracts and grants portfolio as well as assisting the CFO with the management of $71 million in school funds. This position provides post award support (with potential pre-award support) for the Dean as well as school-wide awards. Working with the Central Student Affairs Office, the Assistant Chief Financial Officer provides school funded student award and program tracking and processing. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer is responsible for quarterly financial analysis and long-range planning for faculty, staff, and student salaries and benefits; and manages the school's sales and services finances, various donors/unrestricted funds and all budget/C-Big entries. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer manages and supervises a person responsible for central department (1915) purchasing and travel and the school's Compliance Officer. The incumbent potentially provides emergency award preparation back-up for department MSO's as assigned.
