Requirements

The Office of Advancement supports the mission of Georgetown University, its faculty, and students by developing relationships with key constituencies, connecting with alumni, and working with donors to help them know and understand opportunities for partnership with the university. The Assistant Director, Alumni Career Services is responsible for supporting the Senior Associate Director in the planning, development, and implementation of career development programs, services, and volunteer opportunities targeted primarily to the University's 160,000+ alumni population and positively impacting undergraduate students. S/he handles the branding and development of the online “voice” of Alumni Career Services programs through social media, specifically for Hoya Gateway and supports the daily implementation of the Alumni Career Services (ACS) job sharing process to drive sharing of career opportunities from Hoyas with job-seeking Hoyas. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Alumni Career Services, the Assistant Director has duties that include but are not limited to:

Hoya Gateway Program Management
  • Handle the overall program logistics, maintenance, quality, and growth of the Hoya Gateway Program through the creation of a year 2 - 5 strategy for transitioning the program from student awareness to adoption.
  • Manage the data analytics, tracking, and reporting related to the program in order to share program progress with the GUAA Board of Governors Career Services Committee.
  • Oversee all Hoya Gateway social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter), serving as the first point of contact for alumni questions related to the program.
  • Liaise with Hoya Gateway Executive Committee and Board of Governors Career Services Committee to report on all program accomplishments.
  • Recruit high-level industry experts and manage alumni volunteer prospects.
  • Create and update volunteer job descriptions for various program roles, selecting, training, and managing volunteer leadership and all alumni involved in the program.
  • Develop and refine the strategy, content, and brand awareness of the alumni volunteer training program.
  • Manage the engagement portfolio of VIP alumni, development, and annual giving leads in order to enhance their relationship with Georgetown.
  • Create high quality internal and external marketing and communications print and digital content such as training and educational materials in alignment with the communication plan to engage students and alumni.
  • Partner with Student Ambassadors to raise awareness of the program and develop student-centric events that promote program integration and use.
  • Develop student participation criteria and student training program and materials, participating in some travel related to volunteer recruiting, training, and meetings.
  • Collaborate with the technology platform vendor for maintenance and growth in addition to serving as a help desk resource for students and alumni.
  • Attend quarterly meetings with Senior Associate Director, Development Officers, Stewardship Team, Student Affairs, and Career Center colleagues to gauge program needs, recruitment, and impact.

Management of Alumni Career Services Job Posting System
  • Utilize the #HireAHoya job posting system to use in concert with Handshake, Hoya Gateway's job posting function, Alumni Career Services, and Hoya Gateway's social media networks to share job opportunities submitted from Hoyas for Hoyas.
  • Handle the sourcing and sharing positions for alumni, tracking clicks on posts of positions, updating descriptions as needed, and liaising with alumni who are job hunting and interested in job opportunities.

Social Media and Marketing for Hoya Gateway and Alumni Career Services
  • Develop, share, evaluate, promote, and build Hoya Gateway and Alumni Career Services' social media presence.
  • Utilize all existing platforms to their fullest potential to magnify Hoya Gateway and ACS' presence and impact.
  • Track and evaluate constituents' interaction with social media over time.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a higher education, career services, customer service, marketing, communications, or non-profit environment
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to multitask and be creative
  • Ability to work independently and strategically to support the aim of Alumni Career Services programming and the mission of Georgetown University as a whole
  • Excellent judgment, analytical, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work with multiple technology platforms ( such as Google Docs, Wordpress, and Squarespace)
  • Ability to think strategically about constituent needs

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior management of student interns
  • Event planning and experience
  • Marketing experience, volunteer management skills, and project management skills
  • Research and organization skills
