The Department of Philosophy at the University of Virginia invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer position.  We are seeking an outstanding teacher who is pursuing a vibrant research agenda.  The successful candidate will contribute to our mission to strengthen the humanities by teaching three courses during the academic year and by participating in the intellectual life of the department.  Fall courses will be PHIL 3120, Aristotle, and PHIL 3150, 17th Century Philosophy.  The spring class is yet to be determined (and partly negotiable).  The appointment begins August 25, 2019.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTS: Candidates must have completed all requirements for their PhD in Philosophy by the appointment start date, and must have significant and relevant teaching experience.  Candidates must also have a significant and ongoing research agenda.
