Position Summary
An entry level position doing manual work involving landscape design, installation, extension, maintenance and repair of irrigation/sprinkler systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, push, lift, dig, haul, pull, reach, carry, lift, grasp, squat or stoop, bend and twist the body while performing essential duties, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk or hear. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye.


Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Graduation from high school or equivalent plus one year of experience in irrigation system maintenance and installation. Must possess a valid driver's license. *** Will be subject to a criminal background check and fingerprint check. ***

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the design and layout of new irrigation systems. Assists in preparing bid specifications as required and reviews bids and makes recommendation. Assists in the development of specifications and requisitioning of supplies and parts of irrigation system maintenance; makes periodic inventory of supplies and notifies supervisor of needed materials. Provides technical expertise and manual labor for the installation of new irrigation systems or expansion of existing systems. Maintenance activities and repairs on existing irrigation/sprinkler systems. Performs preventive maintenance on irrigation/sprinkler systems; checks systems for proper operation. Troubleshoots existing problems and assists in complex remedies. Maintains related records and drawings of irrigation systems in place on the property and keeps them updated regularly. Performs related duties as assigned.
