Goshen College seeks a Major Gift Officer to join a dynamic team of advancement professionals that includes major gifts, annual fund, alumni relations, and events. As a member of the major gifts team, she/he will work both collaboratively and independently to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, friends, foundations and corporations to secure current gifts, pledges and planned gifts to support annual funds, endowments, scholarships, capital projects and programs.

Primary responsibilities will be implemented through regular and frequent visits with donors and prospective donors throughout an assigned region and portfolio. Travel throughout the United States and occasionally Canada will be an essential part of the position, as will participation in evening and weekend activities. He/she will enthusiastically embrace the distinctive culture and mission of Goshen College and will be an effective and articulate ambassador of the College in every way.

Qualifications:

Minimum of three years experience in fundraising, sales or marketing, with five years experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree. Able to travel locally and in an assigned territory 25% – 50% of total time.
