Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in hand by January 1, 2020.


Preferred Qualifications:

Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in neuroscience, molecular or cellular biology, genetics, genomics or biochemistry in hand by January 1, 2020. Research experience in neuroscience, molecular or cellular biology, genetics, genomics or biochemistry.

Brief Description of Duties:  

The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.  Several basic research Principal Investigators in the Department of Anesthesiology are seeking applicants for postdoctoral positions.


The department has a growing and vibrant basic research group engaged in a variety of research programs in neuroscience. Principal Investigators in this department study pain, neurodegeneration, neurogenesis, neural stem cells, aging, biology of anesthesia and other areas of basic neuroscience. These basic science research programs make use of various animal models, including rodents and Drosophila.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.  Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability to funding.  FLSA Exempt, position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
