Job Description Summary:
The Manager of Dual Enrollment Student Success will act as a facilitator for dual-enrolled students, parents, college staff, and high school administrators in order to promote academic success, from initial engagement through registration to transfer or graduation, ensure consistency and efficiency, and provide all stakeholders with a point of contact and resource for all dual enrollment programs.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
• One-to-three years of experience in secondary or post-secondary education field

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in relevant field
• Management experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified
• Familiarity with dual enrollment, CTE and/or Early Middle College programs
• Familiarity with dual enrollment requirements in the State of Michigan

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations, Procedures, and Policies:

• Establish, implement, and oversee the various processes within dual enrollment programs to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Serve as a resource to Cass County schools to help administer Early Middle College and LCISD Academy programs; processing applications, scheduling interviews, and maintaining a database of EMC/Academy students.
• Work with Niles Campus personnel to implement the Dual Enrollment Honors Academy, administering the program similarly as the Early Middle College program.
• Create and implement policies and procedures for dual enrollment students at the college.
• Play a large role in academic intervention by tracking attendance, grades, and academic warnings for all dual enrollment students.
• Coordinate academic intervention strategies with both college faculty and high school administrators/counselors for students with attendance problems and/or academic warnings.
• Work with the appropriate stakeholders to make recommendations concerning placement of dual enrolled students in SMC classes.
• Plan, facilitate, and oversee the advising and registration process for all dual enrollment students; coordinate with registrar, academic deans, and high school administrators to ensure accessibility of courses and accuracy of registration.
• Plan, facilitate, and oversee dual enrollment orientations.
• Collaborate with all internal stakeholders (e.g. academic deans, registrar, business office) to analyze and improve dual enrollment authorization process.
• Serve as a point of contact for faculty and staff at SMC as a liaison among student, high school, and college populations to facilitate academic success as well as classroom, educational, and institutional integrity.
• Serve as operational manager for Dowagiac Union High School Early Middle College Program.

Support Services:

• Serve as a coach who works on developing a bond of trust with the students to help them with their transition from high school to college.
• Meet with dual enrollment students during regularly-established office hours to maintain a steady mentor presence, especially for those with documented absences and/or academic warnings.
• Work collaboratively to assist students with goal setting and college planning; in congruence with the Career Planning Center, facilitate degree mapping, graduation audits, and transfer audits for all dual enrollment students.
• Work closely with the CTE Director, Director of Admissions, and high school counseling staff to coordinate the appropriate support services based on student need - including, but not limited to Learning Lab services, Disability Services, and Testing Center services.
• Facilitate scheduling and facilitation of SMC programs for local high school Parents’ Nights.
• Assist students with identifying a career path and related program of study; may utilize Career Cruising as a tool in this process.
• Discuss college success strategies with students, helping them evaluate their strengths and areas of improvement.
• Collect and analyze data including but not limited to dual enrollment student performance, matriculation information, programmatic participation, and pull-through (yield) rate of dual enrollment students.

Policy and Legislative Liaison:

• Track and communicate existing and upcoming dual enrollment legislation to ensure proper reporting mechanisms are used consistently according to state policy.
• Attend regular conferences and meetings involving Early Middle College, CTE, and dual enrollment organizations to stay current on best practices and college policies.
• Establish SMC as a leader in dual enrollment performance statewide through the presentation and dissemination of academic success data within the dual enrollment programs.
