JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

WPI is seeking applications for a full-time teaching (non-tenure track) faculty position in the Aerospace Engineering Program. The classroom teaching requirement for the position is approximately four to five courses per year from the undergraduate and graduate programs in Aerospace Engineering. The Major Qualifying Project advising requirement for the position is approximately one to two project loads per year. The candidate is also expected to participate in curriculum development, student advising, and other functions of the Aerospace Engineering Program.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate will be expected to primarily teach courses in the Fluids and Propulsion areas including incompressible and compressible fluids dynamics, aerodynamics, air breathing propulsion, rocket and space propulsion, spacecraft and mission design. The candidate will advise MQPs in aircraft, rocket, or spacecraft design.

This position is a non-tenure track appointment for one year initially. After demonstrating quality performance and successful completion of the assigned teaching responsibilities, a multiple-year contract may be negotiated.

The ideal applicant will have a PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related area with teaching and advising interests related to aerospace fluids and propulsion.
