Essential Functions

Teaching Description:
Expected to deliver the equivalent of nine courses throughout the fall, winter and spring quarters. Most courses are 4 credits, lasting the full 10 weeks of a quarter. However, some of the Entrepreneurship courses are called grinds, 1-day 1-credit courses that meet on Saturday. An individual grind counts as of a typical 4-credit class. The Teaching Assistant Professor is expected to teach 1 or more of these grind courses on Saturdays, not to exceed 6 per year, unless the Teaching Assistant Professor chooses to teach more and there is adequate need and demand. There may also be opportunities to teach during the summer quarter as well as online Entrepreneurship classes.

Research and Scholarship:
As part of maintaining faculty qualifications for accreditation, the Assistant Teaching Professor is encouraged to engage in professional and/or academic efforts to represent the University and industry; for example, research efforts, speaking engagements, professional memberships, etc. Publications are not a requirement, but would be highly valued.

Service:
Teaching Professors help serve the college by serving on committees, curricula design, and assurance of learning, and assuming other duties as assigned and/or needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence in the areas of introduction to business, entrepreneurship, the fourth industrial revolution, and related topics.

Real-world experience in having launched at least one successful entrepreneurship venture, regardless of industry or focus (social entrepreneurship, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • DBA or PhD in Business, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean startup and organic growth methodologies.
  • Experience in team and experiential learning through class and work and understand the transfer of classroom knowledge/skills to the workforce.
  • Experience working with real businesses and integrate their problems into class scenarios or projects.
