Job Details
Under the leadership of the Executive Director of Housing and Residential Life, the Residential Life Manager oversees daily operations of the residence hall and ensures that the hall operates within the parameters of a living/learning environment. The Residential Life Manager is responsible for the enforcement of Departmental and University policies and procedures. The incumbent must interact with residents through individual and group contacts and be available, visible and serve as a role model; supervise and evaluate the Residential Life Coordinators, Residential Assistants, and work-study students; promote leadership development; support all programming efforts within the residence hall to create and maintain activities that contribute to the intellectual, religious, cultural, social, and emotional growth of students. This includes developing hall activities specific to special student groups (i.e., freshmen, honors, men, women, etc.); and work with students who have academic, vocational, or personal concerns. He/she will initiate a process for the resolution of conflicts; participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of Residential Assistants; and in the planning and delivery of monthly RA Leadership Seminar meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in student personnel or a related discipline is required. Previous residence life/student life experience is a plus. Candidate must possess exceptional customer service and communication skills. Previous experience working with and supervising students is strongly preferred.
